- Not Rude, Honest

The 2026 Met Gala, chaired by Anna Wintour, Venus Williams, Beyoncé and Nicole Kidman, was held on the 4th of May and the theme was "Costume Art".

Many of my Met Gala faves disappointed me this year. Zendeya skipped it altogether, Cardi B's look was just too confusing, and Rihanna is clearly unbothered and, just threw something on (by Rihanna Standards of course! 😅). Having said that, there were a good number of memorable looks that made into my top 10.
Emma Chamberlain in Mugler, inspired by Van Gogh: This was by far the best look of the night, executed to perfection, no notes!

Yu-Chi Lyra Kuo in Jean Paul Gaultier, inspired by "Winged Victory of Samothrace": A very close second, this dress is truly a work of art.

Mona Patel in Dolce & Gabbana, inspired by Da Vinci's "Vitruvian Man": Very ethereal and the back of this dress is stunning!

Karan Johar in Manish Malhotra, inspired by Raja Ravi Varma: I think the era of men showing up to the Met Gala in a basic suit is over - this is beautifully intricate.

Anok Yai in Balenciaga, inspired by "Mater Dolorosa": Anok stuns year on year and always nails the theme.

Anne Hathaway in Michael Kors, inspired by the poem "Ode on a Grecian Urn" by John Keats: The neckline on this dress that was hand-painted by Peter McGough is so gorgeous.

Naomi Osaka in Robert Wun, inspired by the The Costume Institute exhibition: I love a outfit reveal moment at the Met Gala and this did not disappoint.

Janelle Monáe in Christian Siriano, inspired by moving art: The live moss, mother boards electrical wires and moving insects made this a real art moment.

Manish Malhotra in Manish Malhotra (flex!), inspired by Mumbai: I just love the intricacies of a Malhotra piece.

Wisdom Kaye in Public School, inspired by : One word - tailoring!

Honourable Mentions
Sabrina Carpenter in Dior: I liked the dress itself, made of film reels, but the shoes, hair and overall look just didn't tie together well. A for effort, B for execution.
Beyoncé in Olivier Rousteing: The dress fell short for me due to the undergarments and the tailoring in the pelvis, but I love that this was Blue Ivy's Met Gala debut and that Jay-Z just seems happy to be there. 😂
